Literally translated as ‘Christ’s Light’, a Christingle is a symbol of the Christian faith. It holds a candle which represents Christ as being the light of the world.
Most churches will hold Christingle services just before Christmas and will often have made the Christingle’s for the children already.
You will need:
- 1 orange
- 1 birthday cake candle and candle holder (the spiky ones that stick in the cake)
- A small piece of tin foil
- 4 cocktail sticks
- Sweets or dried fruit
- Red ribbon
- Sticky tape
How to make your own Christingle…
- Cover the cocktail spikes with a piece of fruit or a sweet at the end.
